Introduction to Motorcycling (ITM)

An ITM is for students with no experience of motorcycling and must be completed before booking a CBT. The 1.5hr session will provide an understanding of motorcycling and allow you to learn essential safety principles, as well as develop foundational riding skills that prepare you for a CBT.

Two students/one instructor.

Price: £55.00

Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)

The CBT is a mandatory course for anyone who wishes to ride a motorcycle or moped on public roads (unless you already hold a full motorcycle license). It ensures that you have the basic skills and understanding to ride safely. The course is divided into five key modules and should be completed within one day. A total of 12 hours is included in the price of the CBT to allow an additional session if required by the student to complete the course and as directed by the CBT instructor. Any subsequent training must be completed within 28 days of the original CBT course.

Two students/one instructor

Novice riders with no experience MUST complete an ITM before a CBT.

Price: £195.00 weekdays, £210.00 weekends and bank holidays

Please note: “Candidates completing CBT on an automatic machine are restricted to automatic motorcycles/scooters unless subsequently trained and assessed as competent on a manual motorcycle by an authorised CBT instructor.”

CBT Renewal

A course designed for riders who have already completed a CBT and are required to re-certify every two years. The course is also a pathway to the Direct Access Scheme for a full motorcycle licence.

Price: £175.00 per person.

Confidence Riding Course

The motorcycle confidence course is designed for riders who have successfully completed their CBT but feel they need more practice to build confidence on the road. It focuses on enhancing riding skills in a safe and supportive environment and typically includes advanced control techniques, hazard awareness, defensive riding strategies, and guided on-road practice to help students gain experience and feel safer navigating various traffic scenarios. It's an excellent way to bridge the gap between the CBT and independent riding.

Price: £165.00 per person for 3 hours

Pre-DAS assessment

All students who wish to access the DAS (Direct Access Scheme) course are required to complete a 3-hour pre-DAS assessment which determines their ability to complete either a 4-day or 5-day DAS course. The course is designed to ensure riders are comfortable and competent on the larger bike before progressing to the full DAS training.

At the end of the 3 hours of pre-DAS, the instructor will assign the rider to either the 4-day or the 5-day DAS course, depending on the skill level demonstrated by the student.

Pre-DAS takes place on the Thursday in the week prior to the start of DAS training and is included in the price of the 4 or 5-day DAS course.

CBT and theory test certificates are required prior to booking pre-DAS/DAS training.
